As Nigeria transitions toward clean, reliable off-grid and hybrid energy infrastructure, site managers play a vital role in ensuring high-quality, safe, and code-compliant installations. Below are the key requirements, primary responsibilities, and application procedures for this career opportunity.

About GreenPawaaNG

GreenPawaaNG is a fast-growing provider of commercial, industrial, and residential solar energy solutions across Nigeria. The organization delivers custom photovoltaic (PV) array installations, hybrid solar inverters, lithium battery energy storage systems (BESS), and ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

The Solar Site Manager will oversee physical site deployments, direct field technical teams, coordinate subcontractors, and manage site safety protocols across residential, commercial, and industrial engineering projects.

Primary Key Responsibilities

  1. On-Site Construction Supervision: Direct day-to-day installation activities for commercial, industrial, and residential solar PV projects, ensuring strict adherence to engineering drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and technical specifications.
  2. Quality Assurance & Engineering Compliance: Inspect structural racking, rooftop mounting arrays, solar module wiring, DC string combinations, and AC balance-of-system (BOS) components. Ensure all electrical interconnections comply with national grid interconnection standards and Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) safety guidelines.
  3. Subcontractor & Workforce Management: Supervise site electricians, solar installers, civil technicians, and third-party contractors. Manage daily work schedules, task delegation, and material allocations to ensure project delivery deadlines are met efficiently.
  4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Oversight: Enforce workplace safety protocols, including working-at-heights procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during inverter commissioning, and site hazard identification.
  5. Inventory & Logistics Coordination: Track incoming shipments of Tier-1 solar panels, hybrid inverters, balance-of-system materials, and lithium-ion battery banks at the project location. Conduct pre-installation component checks to prevent delays or material damage.
  6. Commissioning & Reporting: Assist commissioning engineers with preliminary testing, open-circuit voltage ($V_{oc}$) measurements, short-circuit current ($I_{sc}$) verification, insulation resistance testing, and system energization. Produce detailed daily and weekly site progress reports for senior project managers.

    • Deep knowledge of solar PV hardware, including string inverters, hybrid power systems, MPPT charge controllers, and Lithium Iron Phosphate ($LiFePO_4$) battery chemistry.
    • Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), structural load layouts, and CAD schematics.
    • Direct experience with DC wiring insulation, cable sizing, grounding methods, and surge protection devices (SPDs).
  • Certifications: Professional accreditation from recognized institutions (e.g., COREN, NSE, or international solar installer certifications) is an added advantage.
  • Soft Skills: Proven leadership skills, strong oral and written communication, decision-making under high-pressure site conditions, and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation & Benefits
