About Swift Consulting
Swift Consulting operates within the engineering and technical solutions space, supporting clients with electrical installation, power systems design, and renewable energy integration. The firm focuses on delivering practical, cost-effective solar and electrical solutions to homes, businesses, and institutions across Lagos and beyond. As solar adoption accelerates across Nigeria due to unreliable grid power and rising energy costs, Swift Consulting positions itself at the intersection of traditional electrical engineering and modern renewable technology — making this a strong environment for engineers who want exposure to both fields.
Job Description
The Electrical/Solar Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and solar power systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. This role suits a hands-on engineer who is equally comfortable interpreting technical drawings and working directly on-site with installation teams. You will work closely with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure that every electrical and solar power solution delivered meets safety standards, budget expectations, and performance targets.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers — particularly those with 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience — looking to build a long-term career in Nigeria’s growing renewable energy and electrical engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical and solar power systems based on client specifications and site assessments
Conduct site surveys to determine solar panel placement, load requirements, and system feasibility
Install, test, and commission solar inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and associated electrical components
Carry out routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electrical and solar installations
Prepare technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
Ensure all installations comply with national electrical codes and safety regulations
Collaborate with the engineering team to estimate project costs, materials, and timelines
Provide clients with technical guidance on energy efficiency and solar system performance
Monitor system performance post-installation and recommend improvements where necessary
Support procurement teams in sourcing quality electrical and solar components
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
A BA, BSc, or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related field
A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in electrical installation, solar energy systems, or a similar technical role
Solid understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and solar photovoltaic (PV) technology
Practical experience with solar inverters, batteries, and charge controllers
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clients
Willingness to work on-site across various locations within Lagos
Knowledge of relevant safety standards and electrical codes
Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD is an advantage)
Candidates with certifications in solar PV design and installation, or membership with relevant engineering bodies, will have an added advantage.
